“You always look at something like that,” Jones told The Dallas Morning News at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. “Looking for the right opportunities, the right situation, obviously they’re in our plans long term. Always look.”
Lamb and Diggs are both two-time Pro Bowl selections already in their young NFL careers. Lamb was a first-round pick out of Oklahoma in 2020 before Diggs, out of Alabama, came off the board in the second round that April.
Lamb had nearly had 1,000 receiving yards in his rookie season in 2020, that despite a season-ending injury for starting quarterback Dak Prescott in October. Lamb followed that up in 2021 with 1,102 yards and six touchdowns. Last season, he caught 107 passes for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns. Lamb was a four-star prospect before making his way to Oklahoma. He ranked No. 246 nationally, No. 31 at wide receiver and No. 33 in the state of Texas. The Sooners reached the College Football Playoff in all three seasons Lamb was in Norman, but never advanced to the national title game.
As for Diggs, he registered a career-high 50 total tackles in 2022 while recording three interceptions, one fumble recovery and 14 pass breakups. That came after he recorded an explosive 21 pass breakups and 11 interceptions in 2021. The latter of those stats led the NFL and tied a franchise season-single record. Diggs appeared in 12 games with 11 starts during his rookie year, recording 49 total tackles, three interceptions and 14 pass breakups. Diggs played collegiately at Alabama after signing with the Crimson Tide in 2016 as the No. 186 player overall in his class. His older brother, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, was a five-star signee at Maryland in 2012 as the No. 10 player that recruiting cycle, per 247Sports.
