Micah Parsons Message to DeAndre Hopkins: ‘It’s Time’ to Come to Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys recruiter Micah Parsons is flipping his social media attention over to the Arizona Cardinals All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

FRISCO – The Dallas Cowboys are in a sense taking a “passive/aggressive” approach to the idea of trading for DeAndre Hopkins.

On the other hand, Dallas’ team leader and “Chief Twitter Recruiter” is going straight “aggressive.”

In a cork-popping mood after his team landed cornerback Stephon Gilmore via trade to cap a Tuesday during which Dallas also re-signed Donovan Wilson and Leighton Vander Esch, Micah flipped his social media attention over to the Arizona Cardinals All-Pro receiver.

Tweeting straight at D-Hop, Micah wrote, “It’s about that time!” with several eyeball emojis.

That’s not weird. It’s fun and sensible and given Hopkins’ trade-block status in Arizona, it makes all the sense in the world.

So .. here’s what’s weird: The Cowboys front office is kinda “playing dumb here.”

Via our NFL Network pal Jane Slater: “Not sure where DHop/Cowboys talk is coming from but my sources tell me they haven’t approached it and nothing there right now.”

The Cowboys are suggesting they are unaware of the Cardinals being open about their willingness to deal Hopkins? The Cowboys are saying they are unaware of Hopkins’ recent weekends spend in DFW hanging out with another unofficial Dallas recruiter, former Cowboys star Dez Bryant? The Cowboys pretending they are unaware of Micah and a million others in Cowboys Nation thinking that trading a “premium Day 2 pick and a player” (Arizona’s supposed price) is a doable deal?

Good Lord, the Cowboys darn sure better not be “unaware” of all of that!

It’s been written that Hopkins would come with a “high cap number.” That’s false. His cap numbers for the next two years are around $19 million and $15 million.

It’s been written that Hopkins is about out of gas. In nine games last season, “Nuk” caught 64 balls for 717 yards and three touchdowns despite the absence of a real QB. So that’s false.

And the Dallas Cowboys – with COO Stephen Jones on the record about planning to acquire an “offensive play-maker with juice” – are unaware of all of this? Cowboys Nation deserves to know that that, too, is surely false.

When is the right time to contact the Cardinals to examine a trade for DeAndre Hopkins? Just as soon as the Cowboys make themselves “aware” of all of this, we suppose.
